My children are home, and I am in the throes of Christmas!
So I don’t have time to write a whole lot. So I thought I’d just share some personal news and some good stuff that may interest you.
First, yesterday was our anniversary. But Keith just got sicker and sicker. On Tuesday night I told him we really didn’t need to go out for dinner. We could just order really, really nice take out. (Because who wants to sit in a restaurant pretending to have fun when they’re sick?) He said absolutely not. But when I was talking to him on the phone yesterday during the day, he was remarkably easy to convince.
That was when I knew he was REALLY sick.
You know the “man-cold” idea, about how pathetic men get when they’re sick? Keith’s not like that. In our marriage it’s me who is pathetic. Keith just always says, “I’m fine,” no matter how he feels. I’ve stopped asking, “how are you feeling?” and I’ve started asking, “On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being your idea of fine and 10 being my idea of fine, how are you?” That works better! 🙂
Anyway, we did get really nice take out, and the girls made the table all pretty and served us dinner, pretending to be waitresses. Keith barely made it through and was still in bed by 6:30. I saw him very briefly this morning before he left for work, though, and he looks like he turned a corner! I sure hope he feels better before all our festivities begin tomorrow night!
Anyway, I meant to share some posts about our marriage yesterday on Facebook, but I was having a lot of fun with my girls and I didn’t get around to it.
So here’s what I would have linked to:
Posts where I admit our foibles (people seem to like these!)
The Day We Should Have Fought–but Didn’t
Why I My Husband and I Don’t Drive Well Together
Post where I talk about how healing marriage is
I thought you might like those!
Now, a bit about Katie! She was so excited when she walked in the door yesterday and saw–a piano! When she moved out we sent out piano with her (since Keith and I don’t play, and she plays to relax herself). So one of the problems of visiting us is that she’s without a piano. We got a horribly old and clunky one for free, which I had tuned last week, and it’s not too bad at the moment. I can’t tell you how nice it is to have music in the house again!
She’s got a video on how she almost cheated at university. I like this one!
The girls and I are spending some time after Christmas planning out our internet goals for the next year, since all three of us have different ministries now. Rebecca’s book is in and done (yay!) and will be released next October, and Katie’s videos are doing well and she’s getting sponsorships. So we’ve been praying about creating a mother-daughter event we can bring to churches.
It’s been such a blessing to me having Rebecca work with me on the blog, and it’s neat seeing Katie doing well. So it’s fun having the three of us together drinking tea and laughing and enjoying each other!
So I’m going to go back to that. I hope you’re keeping your family close this Christmas, too!

Merry Christmas – what a gift indeed to work with your daughters!
It really is!
My husband and I are the same way about being sick.
Me: I have a paper cut! Imma gonna to be in bed for three days! Please plan on waiting on me hand and foot whilst handing out bucket loads of sympathy!!!
While he went to work for a month with pneumonia. Because he was “fine”.
And another time wouldn’t go to the doctor even though he broke his foot falling off a waterfall. Because he was “fine”.
He also chopped the end of his finger off at work. Put a bandage on it and went back to work. Then he nearly passed out from loss of blood. Rested a bit, and went back to work.
Because he was “fine”.
Oh, you make me laugh! Are you sure we aren’t married to the same person?
Merry Christmas and a happy and blessed 2017 to you all. I have just watched Katie’s video which was great and I wanted to say I thought her eye makeup is so pretty! Oh yes, and thanks for the snowy shot at the end. I wish we had snow here in the UK, but it has been a beautiful day today so I went for a run instead of wrapping presents. Had to be done!
I’ll pass on your best wishes to her! Thank you!
Opposite of me and my husband. Him- I’ve got a paper cut! In dying of blood loss! Me- I chipped my hand off, but gotta be back to work on 10 minutes! Go figure.
