Fixed It for You Launches

Are you ready to do some fixing?

I’m so excited to announce that today my Fixed It for You workbook launches!

When The Great Sex Rescue was published, Rebecca gave me the idea to take some of the horrible things that evangelical authors and pastors have said, but them on a graphic, and “fix” them! It was a quick and easy way to help people see the toxic teachings, and understand why they’re so bad and need to be fixed.

Over the last two years I’ve published about 75 of them, and you’ve likely seen them if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook!

I post a lot of them here on the blog, too, like these classics:

These caught on like wildfire–and I had so many requests for me to do more with them!

So I decided to create a workbook of Fixed It for Yous!

Use it to:

  • Inspire conversation with you and your spouse
  • Talk through with friends
  • Journal through as you process a new way of seeing God
  • Or even use as small group curriculum!
Fixed it For You workbook

You’ll get 30 Fixed It For Yous, over 180 discussion questions, discernment prompts, and more!

Each Fixed It For You comes with:

  • The context of the quote
  • 6 discussion questions, including one on judging the fruit
  • Recognizing Red Flags lessons, that help you identify the red flags in the quote
  • Scripture that points us back to the heart of Jesus

And it’s launching for just $4.99!

(The price goes up to $6.99 on February 20).

So many people have told us that The Great Sex Rescue helped them see truth–but they still couldn’t spot toxicity.

They would hear something in church, or read it in a book, and know it was off, but they couldn’t quite put their finger on why.

That’s what Fixed It for Yous do–they help teach you how to see what’s wrong, so that you won’t be sucked in anymore.

You won’t feel defeated. You won’t feel like God doesn’t care about you, like He is always angry at you, like He considers someone else more important than you.

You’ll find the heart of Jesus again, away from toxicity that paints women as sexual objects, or discounts our thoughts and opinions. Away from toxicity that paints men as merely animals who aren’t capable of acting in a morally upright manner, or of following God without women’s help.

You’ll find freedom.

Who are we fixing?

The Fixed It for You workbook contains 20 classic Fixed It for Yous, plus 10 never-before-seen ones that won’t ever be up on social media!

Fixed It for You fixes:

  • John Piper
  • Emerson Eggerichs
  • John MacArthur
  • Steve Arterburn
  • Gary Thomas
  • Desiring God
  • Doug Wilson
  • The Gospel Coalition
  • …and even me! (That’s right. I even fixed myself!)

Plus so many more!

What are we fixing?

I hope I’ll do several volumes of these, but in this first one we have 6 sections with 5 Fixed It for Yous each.

We’re Fixing the Fundamentals!

  1. Masculinity
  2. Femininity
  3. Marriage
  4. Sex
  5. Responsibility for Sin
  6. Boundaries

I chose terrible quotations to “fix” that raise all different issues in each of those categories, so that you can talk about a whole variety of issues with friends, your spouse, your small group–or someone in the grocery store line!

At the end of each of the six sections, there are also discussion questions that cover the whole topic, looking at what themes the five Fixed It for Yous have in common.

It’s your way to really internalize everything you’ve learned at Bare Marriage, so you can see what’s wrong in an instant!

(to keep on any device, or to print it out)

I love how this series of “Fixed It For You”s hones in on destructive statements that often get lost in longer commentary, and helps readers sharpen their critical thinking skills rather than simply assuming every popular book or article is accurate or helpful. Seeing these snippets excised from the fluff that surrounds them, is incredibly eye-opening for readers!

How Can I Use this Fixed It for You Workbook?

You can buy it in two ways–

(I hope to have paperback available soon too!)

Then use it to spark those discussions you’ve been wanting to have with your spouse, your friends, your church group.

  • Work through one a night with your spouse while you’re lying in bed.
  • Go out for coffee with a friend, and work through 2-3.
  • Keep it on your phone to whip out if you get into relevant discussions with friends and want to explain the problems with some theology
  • Or even use it as a 6-week curriculum for your small group! (it’s the cheapest curriculum you’ll ever get!)

You can even just journal through the questions yourself to help you process what you’re learning.

Together, we can change the conversation about sex and marriage in the evangelical church.

We can reject toxic teachings and cling to what is of Jesus.

That starts by learning to recognize the toxicity.

So come with me on a journey–and let’s do some fixing!

It’s just $4.99–until February 20!

The “Fixed it For You’s” are a light in a sea of dark and confusing Christian teachings on marriage and sex. It has helped numerous readers cut through the misconceptions and delusions, guiding them back to the goodness, decency, and honor of marriage as Christ intended.

If I buy two downloadable copies, can I print one to send as a gift to a dear friend?

Sorry, I did word that poorly. 🙁

I suppose my question was more about being able to type “2” in a quantity box somewhere. I don’t imagine most people buy multiple copies of an electronic version.

Absolutely! I’m also hoping to have a paperback available in about 2 weeks?

I will have to wait two weeks. I dont have kindle. You need fix the link because it is not clear how to check out to buy the other-way. Plus you might be busy anyway. Sorry Jo – I get confused too. That is crapy when that happens.

So excited for this!! I was assuming it would just be an entertaining and educational book of “fixed it for you“ quotes… But I love that there are categories and discussion questions and red flags to look for, etc. I can’t wait to discuss this with my husband, and some of my dear girlfriends!

So far, I have read half the book and loved it! When the workbook comes out in paperback, I will definitely have to buy it. Maybe in the future, I’ll start a personal group study for us to discuss.
