New Starter Playlists for the Bare Marriage Podcast!

How do you find the best Bare Marriage episodes?

What if you’re trying to introduce our podcast to a friend, but you don’t know where to start? Or what if you desperately want  your husband to listen and understand what you’ve learned, but it’s hard to tell him to just listen to 305 episodes (and counting)?

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, but I was recently prompted by a question in our Patreon group that went like this:

Can anybody help me make a list of Bare Marriage essential podcasts?

Specifically for a [mid 40s] male whose first marriage felt pretty good to him in complementarian, traditional marriage roles, but who is contemplating a second marriage with a woman who is decidedly egal and he is having a HARD time understanding why it matters so much to her and why he feels “feared” and “labeled” when they talk men/women theology.

And so I decided to put some playlists together! I asked on Facebook and in our Patreon group for people’s favourite episodes that had made the biggest impact, plus I looked through them all myself, and came up with 5 different playlists. I want to keep the playlists to 10 episodes each (some don’t have quite that many in them yet), and I’ll likely switch out some episodes as more come out, but I like the idea of having starter packs that aren’t too intimidating where people can jump in.

So here’s what I’ve come up with:

If you want your husband to start listening to the stuff you’re learning, or if you’re going through counseling and this is a last ditch attempt, or if you’re considering marriage and want to make sure you’re on the same page, or if you’re a guy who just wants to learn, this is a great place to start!

Healthy Sex Teaching

So much of what we teach about at Bare Marriage is about sex–how it should be mutual, intimate, and pleasurable for both. It comes up in pretty much all of our podcasts, but here are a few that are dedicated specifically to that!

One of the most common requests we get is for a synopsis of why complementarianism doesn’t work. We’ve done so many podcasts on this, but here are some of the best!

How can you find these Bare Marriage playlists later?

If you go to my YouTube channel and click on “Playlists”, they will be right there!

  • I’ll also put them on the navigation bars on my site, under “Resources” in the menu.
  • And I’ll add them to Buzzsprout, which hosts my podcast–once I’ve figured out how!

Please share these with people you know!

Share them with pastors, or sisters, or women’s ministry leaders. Let’s get the ball rolling! And if you have any other topics you’d like me to create a playlist for, or episodes you want highlighted, let me know in the comments!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I have listened to all of your episodes and often want to go back to listen to a certain kind of podcast and can’t always find it. Or, I recommend to friends and have to wade through everything. I would also suggest a “why porn is bad and isn’t your fault if your spouse is using” playlist. This is how I first started listening 4 years ago and how you began to change my life.
